Key Technology: Data Storage, USB Interface, Win32 Application

Main Components: Microcontroller - PIC18F4550, Phillips LCD

    Description:

'eAttend' is an electronics attendance device developed for maintaining an electronic log of student attendance at schools & colleges. The device is intended to replace the traditional ATTENDANCE LEDGER, by use of a modern & sophisticated electronics device for the data logging and analysis of the attendance information.

As an embedded product it consists of a hardware device and a software application. The 'Software Application' is a win32 based application that can be used to download data and perform analysis.

The hardware consists of a PIC18F4550 microcontroller along with switches used for data entry. The firmware for the device control and data logging is written in 'C-language' and embedded into the controller flash. There is an on-board memory (EEPROM) provided for attendance data storage. Data for 8 different classes each with a maximum strength of 120 students can be stored on-board, which can be downloaded weekly into a PC for storage and further analysis.
